More and more cases of the new Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) are being reported in China and other countries. Spiez Laboratory has set up the necessary diagnostic detection systems at an early stage and can test suspect samples. A few samples have already been tested with negative results (no Coronavirus 2019-nCoV). These work is carried out in close consultation with the Federal Office of Public Health and the National Reference Centre for Emerging Viral Infections (CRIVE) of the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG). The CRIVE receives all suspect samples for confirmation and is responsible for diagnostic tests.
