Measuring radioactivity

For the exact measurement of radioactivity levels, the precise properties and concentration of radioactive substances (radionuclides) must be determined. Our instruments and analytical test methods allow for the precise analysis of the radionuclide concentration in the environment (air, water, soil, vegetation), in foodstuffs as well as in other materials (materials, auxiliary equipment):

  • Instrumental analytical methods based on the non-destructive detection and evaluation of gamma radiation emission from the material to be tested
  • Radiochemical analytical methods that separate the radionuclides to be assessed from the sample material in order to measure and evaluate radioactivity levels (alpha and beta radiation)
  • Determination of radionuclide contents by means of mass spectrometry
